Let’s talk about fonts, baby!
As a teacher, you can’t help but love them. Also, #friendsdontletfriendsusecomicsans. There are lots of font bundles and creators on TpT that I absolutely adore, so when I decided to start making my own, I was definitely intimidated. I’ve always been a handwriting lover, and people have always told me that my handwriting should be a font, but I never actually took it seriously. That is, until I started hand-drawing fonts using the iFontMaker app on my iPad and quickly became obsessed with making new designs.
But with all of the font sellers on TpT, and let’s face it, the entire Internet, it’s kind of difficult to stand out in a crowd. As of late, I’ve been trying to create fonts that look different from others that I’ve seen, and ones that are more unique to my handwriting and my “brand.”
Thus, the ArtsyAppleForTheTeacher font was born!
The new font is currently located in the GROWING BUNDLE of fonts, but will be added to VOLUME EIGHT when the volume is complete. This font includes 52 hand-drawn “doodle” fonts that are teacher, classroom, and back-to-school inspired. I picture teachers using this font for labels of small groups, schedules, class newsletters, planners, post-it notes, etc. What is better than a FONT that types pre-made labels? Each lowercase letter and uppercase letter in the alphabet has a different doodle assigned to it – and it is one of my favorite font creations yet!
Even better, the fonts AND EVERYTHING ELSE IN MY STORE is on sale tomorrow and Wednesday for the annual BTS TpT sale! And we all know, #teacherslovesales.
(I know I’ll be there.)
